- Kuala Kencana is the first city in (Papua) West Papua New Guinea with underground utilities, centralized water distribution, and sewage collection and treatment. Kuala Kencana is the finest town ever built in West Papua New Guinea. The town is managed by P.T Freeport the giant copper and gold company in the country (Indonesia).
In 1995 President Suharto dedicated Kuala Kencana, the first city in Indonesia with underground utilities, centralized water distribution, and sewage collection and treatment.

The webmaster was one of the first residents living there when the president dedicated the city in 1995. She got the chance to shake hands with him and his former wife' (Tin Suharto)
The town is divided into several sections. The first is called 'RW' which "means group of towns living in peace. The second section is called 'RT' means "group of neighbors living in peace.
The third section is called 'BQ' for the young married couple apartments there RW is divided into RW.A and RW.B Inside the RW.A is RT which will be divided into four sections RT1-4. The city has a hospital and a fire department staffed round the clock.
Kuala Kencana is the most beautiful town you will see. Not because it boasts the
richest houses but because of how green it is... and how naturally beautiful it
is.
