Support our trees

This is Timika after all the transmigration from Java island came and cut all the trees down. "Sprawling transmigration sites represent the greatest threat to the Kamoro life-style and the ecosystems of the Timika region. Little thought has been given to the traditional land rights of the Kamoro when settlers were brought in from Java. " by papuaweb.org

This is an example of how the immigrates came and preformed illegal acts by cutting down and selling trees our forests. By preforming this deforestation they are ruining the whole ecosystem of Papua.

We papuanese need to protect and preserve our rich and amazing forest God has given to us.

We have a very simple life. We are the nicest people you can ever meet. We have the most spectacular views of nature that you will ever encounter.

Trees:
provide a home and food for birds, insects and other wildlife
add nutrients to soil and prevent erosion
reduce global warming by absorbing harmful greenhouse gases and releasing oxygen for us to breathe
offer shade and shelter from the sun, wind and rain
help reduce stormwater runoff
filter sunlight and rainfall to produce fresh, clean air
add character to our homes, city and environment.
